1N4001-1N4007 are the most popular general-purpose silicon rectifier diode with current up to 1A and maximum reverse voltage
between 50V (1N4001) and 1000V (1N4007). It is used commonly to rectify AC 50/60Hz from electrical network.
Typical package is DO-41, case material: molded plastic. Cathode marked with band.
This diode family is manufactured by many various companies. Some of manufacturers offer different diode series in various packages, and almost the same characteristics. These series may have different marking but identical number code, such as: SM4007, LL4007 etc.
This family is not recommended by manufacturers for new designs and has been replaced by S1A-S1M series in SMA package (surface mount). More information can be found here.
