The release date of foreign electronic components is indicated four digits, the first two of which indicate the year of manufacture, and the last two - the number of the week in the year (for example, 9432 means 1994, 32nd week of the year).

Date of manufacture of USSR transistors and other electronic components in accordance with USSR standard ГОСТ 25486-82 is encoded in two letters or letter and number (see table below). The first letter means the year of manufacture, and the next digit or letter is the month. If there is space on the element for markings, the date can be indicated in full.
